Pulse oximetry

The pulse oximetry method determines the oxygen saturation of the arterial blood and the heart rate.
It is applied primarily to the patient's finger. For the oxygen measurement, the light source emits
Infrared light waves that penetrate the finger and on the opposite side a special sensor registers the coloration of the hemoglobin, which changes depending on the oxygen load.
The pulse oximeter thus provides you with an overview of a patient's values in a quick and uncomplicated way. Since it is a non-invasive procedure, it is also painless.
This method can be used in different areas of medicine.
